The Dead Are Just Like the Living in SYFY’s Revival Trailer

There’s a new series heading to SYFY. The show, Revival, stars Melanie Scrofano (Wynonna Earp, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds), and is based on the Image Comics series by Tim Seeley and Mike Norton.

Here’s the official synopsis:

On one miraculous day in rural Wisconsin, the recently deceased suddenly rise from their graves. But this is no zombie story as the “revived” appear and act just like they once were. When local Officer and single mother Dana Cypress (Scrofano) is unexpectedly thrown into the center of a brutal murder mystery of her own, she’s left to make sense of the chaos amidst a town gripped by fear and confusion where everyone, alive or undead, is a suspect.

Based on the trailer released today, the tone is more darkly light than doom and gloom. The dead look just like the living, more or less! It’s confusing, and literal Hell might be involved, and there’s also a murder made more confusing by the murder victim, a child, apparently being one of those who came back to life.

Revival is a SYFY scripted original (a rare thing these days), and is showrun and created by Aaron B. Koontz and Luke Boyce. In addition to Scrofano, it stars Romy Weltman, David James Elliott, and Andy McQueen, with recurring guest stars Steven Ogg, Phil Brooks (CM Punk), Gia Sandhu, Katherine King So, Maia Jae, Nathan Dales, Mark Little, Glen Gould, Lara Jean Chorostecki, and Conrad Coates.

Revival premieres Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on SYFY.
