Peter Gasparini has joined as executive vice president of national operations, and Chris Mills in the same role for business development, per the release. Both come from outside businesses — most recently, Gasparini was a market executive for Phoenix-based contractor Kitchell, and Mills was president of New York City-based Electra USA, a subsidiary of Tel Aviv-based Electra Group. The firm has controlling stakes in three electromechanical contractors in the New York area — Gilston Electric, Hellman Electric, and FW Sims.

Gasparini joins Suffolk with more than 35 years in construction and a wealth of experience across borders — he’s overseen significant projects in three countries, 17 U.S. states and three Canadian provinces, per the release.

In his new position, Gasparini will help drive the National Operations team as it continues its work around the country. He will work out of the contractor’s headquarters in Boston and report to Tim Stroud, Suffolk’s national president and chief operating officer.

Mills brings an abundance of executive experience to the table. Prior to Electra USA, he spent the bulk of his three-decade career at New York City-based Plaza Construction, where he held several leadership positions, including president and chief operation officer, per the release. Suffolk emphasized his passion for innovation, technology, analytics and the development of data-driven standards for complex projects.

In this role, Mills will focus on national business development efforts to expand Suffolk’s footprint and drive strategic growth, according to the builder. He’ll be based out of the firm’s New York City office and report to Ralph Esposito, national president.

“As Suffolk continues to expand into new regions, sectors and markets, we must remain committed to providing exceptional client service and enhancing our productivity, safety and efficiencies on our jobsites by leveraging the most sophisticated technologies and tools in the industry,” said John Fish, Suffolk’s CEO, in the release. “We are thrilled to welcome Pete and Chris to the Suffolk team as experienced national leaders who will oversee these efforts and position Suffolk for future growth and success on the national stage.”
