The Hôtel de Paris is a Monte Carlo institution just steps away from the famous Casino of Monte Carlo and steeped in history. Originally opened in 1864, the property has recently undergone an extensive renovation, creating a hotel that is filled with modern touches but that also is deeply respectful of its Belle Epoque tradition. In addition to providing a very luxurious experience, one of the hotel’s most important undertakings is its deep commitment to sustainability.
The hotel welcomes visitors with a palatial lobby and spacious rooms with soothing tones, supremely comfortable beds and fresh flowers. Many rooms have harbor views and terraces. For a splurge, consider the Prince Ranier III or the Grace Kelly suite.
One of the highlights of the property is the exceptional cuisine. The property boasts two Michelin-starred restaurants. Le Louis XV-Alain Ducasse serves creative and glamourous dishes including a purple artichoke served with Kristal caviar and a grilled catch of the day served with fennel and blackcurrants. Dessert includes a classic rum baba and a not so classic warm peach souffle with marjoram and black lemon powder. Stop by Le Grill for amazing views and delicious creations, including a broth of melon, ginger and blue lobster and Black Angus beef with chantarelles. The dessert trolley is quite tempting, but so is the cheese cart and the numerous made-to-order souffles. El Sherif served Middle Eastern specialties with a twist, such as Wagyu kebabs with corn puree and an outstanding pistachio baklava.
Wellness is a focus at the hotel and The Wellness Sky Club houses an outdoor pool with a terrific view as well as a sauna, a very-well equipped gym and, of course, a lounge menu that features detox drinks as well as champagne. There is also an indoor saltwater pool and a peaceful spa where you can indulge in a range of massages, including a sports massage or a Thai massage and experience cryotherapy. Guests also have access to the beach and pool at Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo, a sister property, and can enjoy golf, tennis and squash at the nearby Monte Carlo Golf and Tennis Clubs. The hotel is also just steps away from the Monte Carlo Casino and an exclusive collection of luxury shops.
While guests will feel well-taken care of every moment of their stay, they will also be able to enjoy all the indulgences knowing that the Hôtel de Paris has made a substantial commitment to sustainability. The Mediterranean Sea is an ever present and cherished part of Monaco and the country, as well as the hotel, is very interested in conservation. Over the last five years, the hotel has formalized its sustainable program and has a devoted team of 23 people monitoring all activities related to sustainability. This program has resulted in a wide range of actions, both large and small. For example, all employees are given water bottles to cut down on plastic, the restaurants are committed to using sustainable seafood in the restaurants, the hotel uses green-certified paper, electric Teslas are used for airport transfers and many items ranging from champagne corks to printer cartridges recycled.
