Greenhouse Training Online ‘Practical Disease Management’ | UF/IFAS
“Practical Disease Management” is an intermediate-level course from the University of Florida’s Greenhouse Training Online program that teaches organic, chemical, and conventional disease management options and best practices for greenhouses and nurseries.
This is the last course offered for 2024.
“Practical Disease Management” is taught by Dr. Carrie Harmon, Director of the UF/IFAS Plant Diagnostic Center in Gainesville, FL, and Co-Director of the National Plant Diagnostic Network. The course expands on the previous Greenhouse Training Online disease management course, creating easy-to-understand education that can be applied to daily greenhouse work.
This course is part of the Plant Health Professional Certificate.
Course participants will learn:
- Basic organic and conventional management options
- Chemical management practices for specific greenhouse and nursery situations
- How to prevent diseases from developing and spreading
- How to safely apply and handle fungicides
The course runs from Nov. 11 to Dec. 13, 2024. All course material is completely online and available at any time of the day. It includes pre-recorded videos, an interactive discussion board with Ph.D. professors, and quizzes. Course material is available in English and Spanish, and two new modules are activated each week during each course, for a total of eight learning modules.
